Congratulations, Yohanny Tejeda, Boston, MA

Meet Yohanny Tejeda ā
My name is Yohanny Tejeda, a Dominican woman who arrived in Boston in 2017 with a suitcase full of dreams, determination, and the desire to build a stable future for myself and my family. My journey began with the courage to immigrate, leaving behind everything familiar to create opportunities in a country where success depends on hard work, discipline, and a clear strategic vision. From an early age, I knew my vocation was connected to early childhood development. I have always felt passionate about supporting children during their first learning experiences, watching them grow, discover their potential, and thrive in a safe and nurturing environment.
In 2023, I took an important step toward turning my dream into a licensed program by enrolling in the Licensing Support Program (LSP) through Shared Services, where I received guidance, technical assistance, and personalized support to successfully obtain my family child care license and open Dā Nereyda Family Daycare. Recognizing that running a high-quality program also requires strong business knowledge, I continued my professional development through Shared Services by completing business training courses that strengthened my skills in program operations, financial management, and long-term planning. In addition, I participated in income tax planning training offered by Shared Services, which helped me better understand tax responsibilities, maximize deductions, and build a more sustainable and financially healthy child care business.
Guided by that passion, I decided to formally build my career in the field of childcare. Through dedication, preparation, and continuous commitment, I established my own home-based program: Dā Nereyda Family Daycare. This project represents more than just a business; it is the realization of a dream I carried with me from the Dominican Republic. My program has become a space that reflects my core values, responsibility, warmth, respect, diversity, and a commitment to ongoing development. Every family that joins the program places their most precious treasure in my care, and that trust motivates me to elevate the quality of my services every single day.
Leading Dā Nereyda Family Daycare has been a truly transformative experience. I have learned that early childhood education requires strong leadership, adaptability, organizational vision, and a deep ethical commitment. Each child I care for reinforces my mission to provide high-quality learning experiences focused on active exploration, positive guidance, emotional security, and open, consistent communication with families.
My story continues to unfold with the same determination that brought me to this country, dreaming big, working with purpose, and building a future where my program keeps growing, contributes to the community, and leaves a positive and lasting impact on every child who becomes part of this journey.
